Franklin Bros Dumpster Rental got its start the way a lot of hauling companies do in Middle Tennessee — with a truck, a handful of roll-off boxes, and a simple bet that homeowners and contractors in Williamson County were tired of dealing with national call centers that couldn’t tell downtown Franklin’s Historic Main Street from a subdivision in Spring Hill. We set up out of a yard on Bridge St, a block off Main Street in Franklin’s River District near the Harpeth River, and worked outward from there, one job at a time.
We’re not a franchise and we’re not a lead-generation front passing your job off to a stranger’s truck. When you call our number, you get someone who actually works in this business, who can tell you whether your project needs a 10 yard or a 20 yard, and who knows off the top of their head whether your address needs a City of Franklin Streets Department permit or not. That’s the whole idea — a dumpster company run by people who are actually from here.
As the fleet grew and we added more sizes and more routes, the day-to-day approach didn’t change. We still quote jobs in plain, flat-rate language up front, we still show up in the window we promise, and we still treat a homeowner clearing out a garage in Franklin the same way we treat a contractor running a multi-dumpster new-construction job out in Spring Hill. Bigger fleet, same habits.
Today Franklin Bros Dumpster Rental serves Franklin and Williamson County towns like Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nolensville, Fairview, Thompson’s Station, College Grove, and Arrington, along with Nashville-side cities such as Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Berry Hill, and Bellevue, plus Murfreesboro and Columbia by request. We’ve been serving the area since 2017, and we’re still a phone call, not a call center.

How We Work
Booking is meant to be simple. You call, tell us what you’re working on and where the truck needs to go, and we tell you which size fits the job and when we can get it there — often the same day if you call in the morning. We ask about your placement up front — driveway, yard, or public street — because that decision affects everything from where the box sits to whether a City of Franklin Streets Department permit needs to be pulled before it shows up. See our full list of services or compare dumpster sizes before you call if it helps to look things over first.
When the dumpster arrives, our driver sets it where it does the least damage to your property and the most good for your project — boards under the rails when they’re needed, a rundown of what can and can’t go in the box, and a clear pickup date. No surprise fees buried in fine print, no upsell pitch when you’re standing in your driveway trying to finish a cleanout.
Our Equipment & Fleet
We run roll-off trucks and a range of 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40 yard containers sized for the mix of properties across Williamson County and the Nashville side of our service area — tight in-town lots around Franklin’s historic core, wide driveways in Brentwood and Forest Hills, and spread-out acreage on the rural fringe toward College Grove and Arrington. Our boxes are kept in working condition and matched to the job, whether that’s a small driveway cleanout or a multi-box new-construction site. Keeping the fleet in good shape and matched to real local lot conditions is part of how we keep drop times predictable.
Values in Practice
Being licensed and insured, and pulling the right permits when a job calls for one, isn’t a marketing line for us — it’s what keeps a homeowner from getting a notice of non-compliance for a dumpster sitting on a Franklin street without paperwork. We handle that side of it so customers don’t have to learn the City’s permit process just to rent a dumpster. Honest pricing means the flat rate we quote on the phone is the number on the invoice, not a lowball that grows once the box is already sitting on your property.
Part of the Community
We’re out on Franklin streets and in Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nolensville, and every other town on our list every week, which means we see the same neighborhoods, the same contractors, and often the same repeat customers — remodelers who call us for every flip, homeowners who call us every time they tackle another room. Staying local isn’t just a tagline; it’s how we’ve learned which driveways are tight, which towns want their own permit call made first, and which properties need a little extra care when we drop a box.
What we stand for
Six things we do not compromise on
Licensed & Insured
Fully licensed and insured for roll-off hauling in Franklin and every town we serve, so you’re covered from drop to pickup.
Honest Pricing
The flat rate you get on the phone is the number on your invoice — no hidden fees added once the dumpster is already sitting on your property.
Reliability & Speed
We show up in the window we promise, and most jobs called in before noon can get a dumpster delivered the same day.
Care for Your Property
Boards under the rails, careful placement, and a driver who treats your driveway or yard the way they’d treat their own.
Local & Community-Focused
A Franklin-based crew that knows Williamson County streets and Nashville-side suburbs by name, not a national call center reading from a script.
Environmental Responsibility
We sort and route debris to the right facilities and steer customers away from illegal disposal — asbestos, tires, batteries, and other regulated materials never just go in the box.
In the community
Part of Franklin, not just working in it
Most of our calls are for placement entirely on private property — a driveway, yard, or parking pad — and that’s unregulated everywhere in our service area; no permit needed, full stop. Where it gets specific is when a dumpster needs to sit in the public right-of-way — a street or sidewalk — inside Franklin’s own city limits. The City of Franklin Streets Department issues a Commercial Dumpster Permit for exactly that situation: a $100 fee plus a $1,000 surety bond, good for up to 30 days before it needs renewal or Street Director sign-off. If a container sits out past its permit without action, the City can issue a Notice of Non-Compliance, which gives 5 business days to correct the issue before the box gets removed at the owner’s expense and the permit is voided. We walk every Franklin customer through whether their job needs this permit before we ever drop a box, and we can help with the paperwork.
That process is specific to the City of Franklin — it doesn’t automatically carry over anywhere else on our route. Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nolensville, Fairview, Thompson’s Station, Murfreesboro, and Columbia are each their own separately incorporated city with their own public works or building department, so we contact that town directly on a customer’s behalf when a job needs it. If your project sits in unincorporated Williamson County — around College Grove or Arrington, for instance — there’s no documented dumpster-specific permit process on record, and we’d point you to the County Highway Department to confirm before placing anything off your own property. And in Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Berry Hill, or Bellevue on the Nashville side, right-of-way placement runs through Metro Nashville Public Works rather than Franklin’s Streets Department. Read our full permit guide for more detail, or just call us and we’ll tell you exactly what your address needs.
